Installation

Prior to installation, note sources of heat, moisture, grease and excessive dust or lint which might interfere with the proper operation of the charger. The installation area should be a stable, load bearing surface capable of supporting the weight of the charger and batteries.

Select an area with good airflow or adequate room for air circulation to prevent overheating of the charger when in use. It is recommended that there be an adequate number of grounded receptacles that each charger will have its own outlet. The use of extension cords is not recommended.

Remove the charger from the packaging and place on a stable surface as noted above. Chargers may be stacked up to 3 high. The feet on the bottom of the charger should fit over the corresponding depressions on the top of the charger below when stacked.

Plug the long AC cord into the line in connector of the power entry module on the back of the unit. Plug the other end of the AC cord into the wall outlet.

A second (and third) charger may be connected to the first by using the short “daisy chain” power cord supplied with the unit. Plug the short AC cord into the line out connector (to the left of the line in connector) of the first charger and plug the other end into the line in connector of the second charger.

A third charger may be “daisy-chained” to the second charger in the same manner.

Operation

Turn the charger on by pressing the ON/OFF switch to the ON position. The power supply cooling fan will start running. If batteries are installed, the status LEDs on the front panel will light.

Loading/Unloading

Batteries are inserted into each open slot of the charger with the contacts facing up and the latch facing down. Status LEDs should turn on upon insertion. If any RED LEDs are on, you will hear a fan start running.

If there is resistance, do not force the battery. Check the orientation and alignment of the battery and correct as needed.

If you continue to have difficulty inserting the battery, remove it and examine the battery and charger for damage. Refer to the Troubleshooting section for more information.

When the batteries are properly installed, the status LEDs for those slots should illuminate.

RED indicates that the battery is charging.

GREEN indicates that the battery is fully charged.

Flashing RED indicates a problem, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

If the LED does not light, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
