Wi-Fi Scan
What is the Wi-Fi Scan Feature?
Ziosk tablets require a stable Wi-Fi connection with a minimum signal strength of -75 RSSI to function properly. To ensure reliable connectivity, deployment teams use the Wi-Fi Scan feature during installation to verify coverage across all necessary areas of the venue.
Venue staff can also use the Wi-Fi Scan tool to check network performance before reaching out to Ziosk Support for troubleshooting.
When a Ziosk device meets the minimum Wi-Fi requirements, it is marked with a green checkmark, confirming that connectivity issues are unlikely to be the cause of any problems. If the device displays a green Wi-Fi indicator but still experiences issues, contact Ziosk Support. If the indicator is red, reach out to your network provider.
How to Use the Wi-Fi Scan Feature
Users can test the Wi-Fi connection of a specific device by entering a table number and selecting "Run Scan."
After the scan, a list of available networks (SSIDs) appears, displaying the signal strength for each. The results can be sorted by Network Name (A-Z or Z-A) and Signal Strength (Low-High or High-Low) for easy analysis.
