The Drop & Pay™ feature is designed to streamline transactions and enhance guest convenience. However, it can be vulnerable to misuse or theft if not properly managed. This one-pager outlines how Ziosk created specific features to mitigate this issue.

Preventing Theft & Abuse

Visual Payment Status (Red vs. Green)

The device displays a red bar when payment is still pending and a green bar once payment is completed. This simple visual cue helps staff instantly verify whether a table has paid reducing the risk of theft or accidental misuse. It also discourages fraudulent behavior by making payment status visible at a glance… no guesswork, no assumptions.

Back Arrow Removal

To prevent guests from navigating away and accessing other parts of the system during a Drop & Pay™ experience, the back arrow is removed. This limits interaction to only the payment screen, reducing the risk of misuse, such as voiding items, altering orders, or re-opening closed checks. By locking the experience to payment-only, it ensures tighter control and protects against potential theft or manipulation.

Tamper-Proof Features

The Ziosk Tablet Pro is built to prevent tampering, both physically and digitally. If someone tries to interfere with it, the device triggers a loud, repeating beep and disables payments to help stop fraud.
